Artist Statement


My idea for this assignment is a visual presentation of the concept of recycling ideas. The process of various media reusing the same ideas, such as expanding genres, sampling in music, spinoff series and remakes. I want explore the idea of whether or not expanding these ideas in new variations is a sign of greater creativity or of a lack of effort and inspiration. In order to approach this I shall use the figure, specifically my own dressed in a variety of themes and explore whether the repetition can be made cheesy and predictable or intriguing, or both.
